Interns

Erica

Erica graduated last year (2006) from the Master's Commission at City Gate Church in Puyallup, WA. She has been an invaluable member of the team with an awesome heart for the arts: dance and other forms of creative expression.

Erica is from Chino Valley, AZ and will be moving back home in August 2007 to minister in her home church.

Emily

Emily is a 2003 Master's Commission graduate from Christ Church Kirkland (Kirkland, WA). Following her student year, she interned at MC Kirkland for a year. After that, she returned to her home church and home town of Little Rock, AR and tried to start up a Master's Commission there. It was not the Lord's timing however. We are so thankful that the Lord has now brought her to us to help us get Master's Commission New Mexico off the ground!

Director

Pastor Mike is a third generation Albuquerque native. He came to the Lord at 20 years old after flunking out of his second year of college. Shortly after his salvation he went back to school, convinced he was being called into "the ministry". He met his wife, Susan, in graduate school where they were both studying linguistics in order to do Bible translation in the mission field. They were married in 1991 and moved to SE Asia in 1993. They lived in Hanoi, Vietnam and Chiangmai, Thailand until 1999 when they returned home for furlough. During that time, family issues arose that prevented them from returning to Asia. It was a dark time for them but the Lord faithfully brought them through it, slowly reviving in them a vision for ministry.

In May of 2005, Pastor Gerald asked Mike to pray about becoming the director of the soon-to-begin Master's Commission at Joshua's Vineyard. Nine months later, after much prayer, Mike said, YES! He has discovered that he is as much a student as anyone as the Lord stretches and molds him.

Mike & Susan have been involved at Joshua's Vineyard since 2000. Their son, CJ is 12 and going into 7th grade at Hope Christian School. Phoebe (4 in September) joined the Cooper clan in July 2004 when they all traveled to China to get her. Click here to read our adoption story.
