Joshua's Vineyard sent a team of 12 to Oaxaca, México, July 13-23, to work with Global Frontier Missions. GFM works with Unreached People Groups all over the world and in addition to ministering to these peoples in the state of Oaxaca, they run a missionary training school in the Oaxacan town of Tlaxiaco.
For three days, we focused on time with God, worship & prayer. We also received some missions info & training as well as planned & played as we got to know the GFM staff and the two other teams there with us (a youth group from Colorado and a small team from Illinois).
Then we went to Teposcolula (a town of about 1500) for four days where the men helped the local church with some construction projects and the ladies assisted with VBS, did some street outreach and worship!
We had one more day at the GFM Base then a day of touristing in Oaxaca at the Monte Albán ruins, then the market & Guelaguetza festival happenings in Oaxaca City.
PRAISE GOD FOR A FANTASTIC TRIP!
We still ask for prayers for our team... Click here for requests.
Oaxaca is one of the southern-most states in México and it has the greatest concentration of people groups in all the Americas! There are 155 distinct people groups represented here!
We have a TON of photos - far too many to post them all. But here are a handful of the best (click on the picture to change it).
There are links below to the other photos we've posted.
